Graphic static
This project centers on form finding, highlighting the introduction of the innovative structural form finding tool, VGS, which is rooted in graphic statics. The VGS tool revolutionizes design workflows by instantly presenting form and force diagrams. It also offers the unique feature of allowing users to manually modify these diagrams, integrating architectural aesthetics with structural efficiency. Throughout the workshop, Professor Denis illustrated how VGS could transform architectural design, beginning with simple trusses and evolving into complex 3D geometries that were ultimately implemented in an office building project. This progression not only demonstrated the tool's practical application but also encouraged us to rethink architectural design strategies to enhance structural performance effectively.
